Raattinam Movie Review and Rating

Raattinam Movie story :

The story starts off with two youngsters Jayam (played by Lagubaran) and Paanai Sekar (played by Ajay) who are long time friends. Jayam who is concerned about his firend Sekar's love decides to help him in proposing to the girl. Jayam tries different strategies to confess his friend’s love to the girl but fails every time. In the due course Jayam happens to see Dhanam (played by Swathi) who is classmate of Sekar's girlfriend.

Impressed by her Jayam falls in love and proposes to Dhanam. Dhanam puts Jayam's proposal on hold for a few days and later accepts it. Once the couple decide to go for a short outing to a nearby town. On their return from the trip, Dhanam's uncle witnesses them together and informs about the issue to their respective parents.

As usual, their parents decide against the couple's will and plan for separating them permanently. Missing each other, Dhanam and Jayam decided to leave the town and secretly get married. With the help of his friend Sekar, Jayam marries Dhanam in a temple next to his town. Dhanam's parents get to know about their hiding place and bring both of them to court. The twist in the tale begins here and the climax unfolds the after effects of the case.

Raattinam movie highlights :

Freshers Lagubaran (as Jayam) and Ajay (as Sekar) have played their part well. Director KS Thangasamy has made a clever work by filming the story with more sequences featuring these two good performers.

Director K.S Thangasamy's script is not so new, but is still entertaining with situational comedies and songs inserted in apt slots. The director's attempt to have a subtle climax is appreciable.

Music director Manuramesan has done well with songs as they aren't that boring to listen. 'Asathum Azhagu' song is the best of the lot. The technicalities like editing and cinematography are on the better side.
