Jiiva, the panchayat president, presides over everything from household chores to mourning ceremonies, in order to gain the votes of the villagers.Accordingly, while Jiiva is busy with the preparations for the wedding of Ilavarasu's daughter, his neighbor, Thambi Ramaiah's ailing father dies.
Since there is already a feud between Ilavarusu and his younger brother Ramaiah, Ramaiah insists that his father's funeral should take place at the same time as Ilavarusu's daughter's wedding. The Ilavarusu is also adamant that his daughter's wedding should take place in his home.
To reconcile these two families, Jiiva, who is the Panchayat, takes responsibility for conducting both events properly.Did he succeed in that? The idea behind 'Leading by the Leader' is to make you laugh and think.
Fitting perfectly into the role of a cheerful and responsible character who interacts with everyone, from children to adults, with love, care, and friendliness, Jiiva has carried the entire film on his shoulders with his natural acting. While all the other characters in the film, besides Jiiva, are significant to the screenplay and make the audience laugh, Jiiva has left his mark as the leader who guides and leads them all.
Prarthana Nathan, who garnered attention as the daughter in the film 'Parking,' captivates the audience in this film with her simple beauty and restrained performance in the role of the bride.
Ilavarasan and Thambi Ramaiah, who play pivotal roles in the story, have enhanced the film's appeal with their natural performances.
Jensen Divakar, Sarjin Kumar, Jaivanth, Rajesh Pandian, Amit Mohan, Subhash Kannan, Sarath, and Savithri keep the audience laughing throughout the film.
The cinematographer, Pablu Aju, who has presented the entire film in a colourful manner, gives the feeling of watching a Malayalam film.
The songs, composed by music director Vishnu Vijay, are of the celebratory kind. The background music effectively enhances the scenes.
From the beginning to the end of the film, even though the story unfolds in a single location, editor Arjun Babu has kept the film moving at a fast pace, preventing any sense of monotony. He has also skillfully conveyed the director's intended message to the audience.
The screenplay by Sanjo Joseph, Nitish Sahadev, and Anuraj O.P. has added immense strength to the simple storyline. Although the film is humorous throughout, some of the issues discussed in it are thought-provoking.
Director Nithish Sahadev has skillfully and humorously narrated realistic life events through very refined visuals, making it an enjoyable experience. In particular, the way the entire film has been handled, much like a Malayalam film, offers a fresh experience to Tamil audiences.
