Anupama, the eldest daughter of Charlie and Nirosha, who live in North Chennai, is trying to get a job in an IT company after completing her graduation. Rajkumar, who works as a medical representative, is secretly in love with Anupama.

At one point, Rajkumar confesses his love to Anupama, but she refuses to accept it. Meanwhile, a friend takes Anupama to a party, promising to help her find a job. There, after drinking alcohol and enjoying the music and dancing, Anupama becomes heavily intoxicated and faints. Her friend then takes her to a room and puts her to bed.

The next day, after returning home, Anupama is shocked to discover that she is pregnant a few months later. She is distraught, not knowing who raped her. She decides to terminate the pregnancy without her family's knowledge.

At this juncture, the COVID-19 lockdown is imposed. The rest of the story of "Lockdown" revolves around whether Anupama finds out who was responsible for her pregnancy, and whether she terminates the pregnancy or not.

Anupama Parameswaran, who plays the lead role, has delivered a courageous performance in a challenging character. Her performance in depicting job hunting, family affection, and her efforts to earn money is outstanding and has captured everyone's attention. She carries the entire film's narrative on her shoulders.

Charlie, who plays the father, Nirosha as his wife, Livingston as the boss, and Rajkumar as the medical representative – all the actors in the film are perfectly cast for their roles.

Lollu Sabha Maran, who plays the compounder, has impressed with his comedic timing and dialogue delivery in his signature style.

The music by composers N.R. Raghunathan and Siddharthan Vipin, including the songs and background score, is a strong asset to the film. K.A. Sakthivel's cinematography also effectively supports the narrative.

Director A.R. Jeeva has created this film based on a true incident. He has woven the story around some events that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has strongly emphasized family relationships and women's safety.
