Kamal Haasan Inaugurated A Massive State Of Art Studio In Chennai


Tamil film industry having witnessed a fast decline in  Studios breathed a huge sigh of relief and pride in seeing a massive state of Art studio in Chennai inaugurated by Kamalhasan yesterday in Velappan chavadi (Poonamali high road) in the presence of many film  dignitaries. The massive studio with five huge Air conditioned floors puts Chennai in the map on par with the best in the world. Isaignani Ilayaraja lighted the kuthu vilakku and stressed on the importance of more and more studios like this that could attract international attention. Kamal Haasan recalled the fond memories of his association with Mr Gopalan of Gokulam group of companies and also recalled his bonding with the studios. "Studios were my second home . My heart bled to hear and see the closure of many studios which were the pride of South Indian film Industry. Mr Gopalan's service to the film Industry in terms of offering this state of Art studio is "Dharma".As how Arcot road was popular for studios those days Poonamali high road where G Studios is built will become the hub of Tamil cinema in future . Dedicating a studio  is not just commerce and it has lot to do with passion " concluded Kamal Haasan with pride.

Vishal general secretary of the artiste association and the President of Tamil film producers council welcomed Gopalan to make more Tamil films and assured the best of support. I am glad that now we have the best of Studios here in Chennai and we can walk tall and talk louder by saying that we are no inferior to others in infrastructure. Nasser president of the South Indian Artiste Association that he is at the pinnacle of his joy to see such a studio being opened in Chennai. RK Selvamani President of FEFSI  appreciated the facilities the studio offers to the film fraternity. "The  suite rooms that is on par with the suit of 5 Star Hotels will bring back the days of Green rooms .The provisions made for light men and stunt artiste in the studio is the best I have seen" he said. L. Suresh President of the South Indian film chamber ,Vikraman the President of  Directors association, Kannan secretary of the SICA, Shanmugam Anga muthu president of Art Directors association, Art Director Sabi Cyril, and other dignitaries were lavish in praising the initiative of Gokulam Gopalan and assured the best of support.  Praveen Managing Director of G Studios said" It was actually Kamal Haasan sir, who was instrumental in infusing the idea of Studio and i thank him for sparing that thought to me. We visited many Hollywood studios and incorporated the best of ideas to construct this studio.  Gokulam Gopalan in his Presidential address assured the best in terms of sustained quality and master class in facilities. The event witnessed the gathering of many aspiring and promising film makers.
