Theatres Attacked at Midnight

Five men were arrested in connection with the attacks on cinema theatres in the city today. Tension prevailed when two premier cinema halls, Sathyam and Woodlands in Royapettah came under attack by unidentified men early this morning. No one is said to be injured in the incident.

According to police, five members of thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhakam (TPDK) carried out the petrol bomb attack. At midnight, around thirty men hurled three petrol bombs and broke glasses of both the movie theatres.

It is to be noted that the incident occurred days before the speculated release of Tamil film Kaththi.
