'Moondru Per Moondru Kaadhal' is director
Vasanth's comeback film after maintaining dormancy since his 2007 release
'Satham Podadhe'. The film has three pairs which include Arjun and Surveen
Chawla, Vimal and Anjana, Cheran and Muktha Bhanu. Yuvan Shankar Raja has
scored the film's music, Bhojan K. Dinesh has handled the cinematography and
S.N Fazil has edited the film.
Story :
The love story between the three lead pair
happen in three different locations. Arjun and Surveen Chawla (Harris and Divya
) play a swimmer coach and student who fall in love with each other. Their pair
faces troubles and love encourages them to come out of the clutches.
Cheran who plays Gunasekaran is a social
worker and student of London school of Economics while his pair Mallika (Banu)
is a physiotherapist. Through their love story the director showcases the value
of love in life.
Varun (Vimal) and Anjana (Lasini) are the
third pair and this happens to be an urban love story. Their love story begins
at 2016 and then dates back to 2012. Their story is narrated by Varun and in
the process we get into another sub-story. The rest is for us to watch.
Review :
Performance wise it is easy for us to pick
out he best pair and it is none other than Arjun Sarja and Surveen Chawla. Both
of them are perfect in their roles and their story is very practically
tailored. Cheran plays the role of a social worker to perfection and Muktha
Banu scores well with her acting.
The pairing which has went wrong is that of
Vimal and Lasini. Among these two, Vimal, who is one of the seasoned
campaigner, doesn't fit into the role of an urban youth. Vimal is best in the
roles like those he had played in Kalavani, but his avatar has a urban guy is
not working out well.
Technicalities to watch out for in
Vasanth's film will be the music and cinematography and MPMK is no exception to
it. Yuvan Shankar Raja' music is a treat for melody lovers. The visuals, in a
few portions are a let down and doesn't match the standard of the music.
Dinesh's lens work has captured the hills, seas shore and plains at its best.
Director Vasanth is known for handling love
in his typical style which highlights the nuances of the relationship. His
detailing on the love relationship has been his plus and the director has tried
to do the same with MPMK. For this, he has chosen three different love stories
and a merging point which would deliver his message or intentions on screen.
Instead of us getting a clear idea on what
the director wants to say, the film gets too lengthy and preachy at times. His
narration works well in parts, but not has a whole package.
Verdict : Moondru Per Moondru Kaadhal a Triangle Love Story
Rating : 3 / 5
