Aachariyangal Movie Review and Rating
Karthick, the protagonist is a happy-go-lucky guy who has unquenchable thirst for excitement and thrill in his life. The story revolves around Karthik who lives in a family of four including his elder brother Hari, father Raghavan and a sister. Hari quits his job and ambitiously tries to excel in the business which he runs on his own.
Karthick, who is interested in his college mate Anjana proposes to her, but gets only a refusal as the answer. Karthik's dad decides to marry his sister's daughter Anu to any one of his sons. While Hari shows disinterest for the marriage, Karthik becomes the immediate target.
Meanwhile, Karthik who gets drunk ends up in an accident while on his way to his home. He receives a phone call in which a voice claims itself as 'God'. The voice tells him that he will get the thrill that he needs in his life and asks for his favorite number for which he replies as “25”.
From there on Karthik experiences a series of surprises and unexpected happenings in his life. What does the protagonist do to evade the problems forms the rest of the story.
Pluses and minuses :
Director Harshavardhan has mixed a pinch of fantasy in a normal script instead of making it has a full length fantasy script. The director has justified the title 'Aachariyangal' well in the story as Karthik, the protagonist faces a series of surprises in his life which was normal until the phone call.
The screenplay would've been tailored much better. In the acting front, Mahanadhi Shankar has done a good job as he has immense experience before the camera. The others have played their part, but have not made their presence felt. Comedy sequences blended with the script have proved to be a stress reliever for the film.
