At the age of 16, the protagonist, Dhanush, takes the money his father, K.S. Ravikumar, had saved and runs away from his hometown. He subsequently takes up a life of petty theft. Dhanush, who falls in love with the female lead, Mamitha Baiju, decides to pull off one final heist in order to marry her.
Dhanush—the protagonist—and Prithvi set out to rob an MLA's house located in Thiruverumbur. Unexpectedly, Dhanush gets caught in the act, while Prithvi Pandiaraj manages to escape.
Suraj, a high-ranking police officer, attempts to frame Dhanush in several false cases in order to gain fame. Consequently, Dhanush escapes from the police station.
After six months, having given up his life of crime in Renigunta, he is now working at a hotel alongside his wife, Mamitha Baiju. Witnessing his wife's struggles, he decides to start a business of his own and travels to Ramanathapuram to visit his father.
There, he meets his father, K.S. Ravikumar, and asks him to sell their land to provide him with money. Dhanush is shocked when his father reveals that the land is mortgaged to a bank. At the same time, a foreclosure notice arrives due to the non-payment of the bank loan. Consequently, K.S. Ravikumar passes away.
Consequently, Dhanush intends to bury his father, K.S. Ravikumar, on their own land. However, bank officials forbid him from doing so. Under these circumstances, Dhanush decides to rob the very bank branch that had issued the loan, in order to reclaim the land and bury his father's body.
Ultimately, did Dhanush rob the bank or not? Did he bury his father's body or not? Did senior police officer Suraj arrest Dhanush or not? That forms the remainder of the story of the film *Kara*.
Dhanush, who portrays the character Karasamy, has put in immense effort. Internalizing a full spectrum of emotions—including love, duty, affection, anxiety, and anger—he has delivered a deeply emotive performance. He was particularly stunning in the fight sequences.
Mamitha Baiju, playing the role of Dhanush's wife, has done full justice to her assignment as a village girl. Suraj, as the police officer, intimidates through his gaze alone. Jayaram, portraying the Regional Bank Officer, fits perfectly into the character of a cruel individual who metaphorically slits throats while wearing a smile.
Director K.S. Ravikumar, who plays the role of Dhanush's father, delivers a performance that benefits greatly from his wealth of acting experience. From Srija Ravi, who plays his wife, to Karunas as the uncle and Prithvi Pandiarajan—every actor in the film proves to be the perfect choice for their respective roles within the story.
Composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, the songs are delightful to listen to, and the background score serves as a major strength for the film. The cinematography by Theni Eswar is beautiful.
Director Vignesh Raja has crafted a gripping screenplay centered on the various ways in which the general public is deceived by banks. This film explores a wide range of themes, including the bond between father and son, the relationship between husband and wife, and the significance of ancestral land.
The film powerfully portrays the immense suffering innocent people endure when they are unable to repay loans taken from banks. Congratulations to the director for steering the narrative with gripping intensity from start to finish.
Verdict : Kara will fade The culture of interest by banks.
Rating : 4.8/5
