S.J. Suryah, who entered into a love marriage, faced failure in his marital life; driven by the desire to ensure that no other couple would ever have to endure such a plight, he dedicated years of effort to develop an application called ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ (LIK) in the year 2040.
Through this app, users can not only select a compatible romantic partner and keep track of each other's whereabouts and activities, but also monitor them via camera around the clock. Consequently, if either partner in a relationship is unfaithful, this 'Lik' app not only detects it but also, should the couple decide to separate, facilitates the settlement of financial compensation to bring about the breakup.

As the usage of the 'Lik' app—which has garnered immense popularity not only among lovers but also among couples—continues to rise day by day, its user Krithi Shetty, having grown up under the guidance of smartphones since childhood, is actively striving to gain a large following on social media.

Seeman has established and runs a place called "Green World"—an environment devoid of technological amenities—with the aim of reforming individuals who commit errors inadvertently through the use of smartphones. Following his father's guidance, his son, Pradeep Ranganathan, lives a life free from the use of mobile phones.

Meanwhile, Pradeep Ranganathan, who falls in love with Krithi Shetty at first sight, secretly buys a mobile phone for her without his father's knowledge; using this device, he connects with her via the 'Lik' app and strikes up a friendship. Just as their friendship blossoms into romance, Krithi Shetty abruptly breaks off the relationship and parts ways with Pradeep, misled by erroneous information provided by the very same app that had initially brought them together.

Enraged by this, Pradeep Ranganathan decides to prove that the 'Lik' app—which had undermined the love for Krithi Shetty residing in his heart through misleading information—is a fake.

However, S.J. Suryah—who maintains that the data provided by his 'Lik' app is accurate—issues a challenge to Pradeep Ranganathan: if Pradeep can make Krithi Shetty fall in love with him within 30 days, Suryah will admit that his app is flawed; conversely, if he fails to do so, Pradeep must acknowledge the app's superiority and proclaim it to the world. Did Pradeep Ranganathan, having accepted this challenge, emerge victorious or not? The story of 'Lik' (Love Insurance Company) unfolds as a narrative that highlights the fundamental difference between data-driven technology and genuine human emotion.

As usual, Pradeep Ranganathan has lent immense strength to the simple character he portrays through his performance, infused with his signature mannerisms.
Even though their romance was "love at first sight"—and despite the fact that the scenes depicting his affection for his beloved often played out humorously—he truly excelled in those moments where he conveyed the depth of his love purely through the expression in his eyes.

Beyond delivering stellar performances in scenes depicting the pain of love and the confident struggle for it, he handles these moments with a commanding flair—taking his fans into a celebratory frenzy.

Krithi Shetty, who plays the female lead, looks stunning even while sporting heavy makeup; in fact, it suits her beautifully. Her makeup and costume design make her resemble a real-life Barbie doll, captivating the audience. Delivering a commendable performance, Krithi Shetty has eloquently conveyed—through the expressive power of her eyes—both the modern obsession with social media and the deep yearning for a mother's affection.

As the founder of the 'Lik' app—a character who serves as an antagonist to human love and emotions—S.J. Suryah has exercised restraint in his signature style, delivering precisely the performance required for the role and thereby adding strength to the film. His efforts to avert the threats facing his app, coupled with his exuberant demeanor while celebrating his success, captivate the audience with their entertaining appeal.

Seeman, playing the character 'Anbu Kadal'—the father of Pradeep Ranganathan—captures a place in the hearts of the audience by expressing his own genuine emotions through his performance. The advice he offers and the changes he envisions serve to demonstrate to the public that these are, in fact, the pathways to safeguarding the inherent greatness of humanity.

While Yogi Babu has showcased a distinct change in his physical appearance, he displays no deviation in his acting or comedic style. Gouri Kishan, appearing in glamorous attire for the first time, features in a role that fails to leave a lasting impression. Sha Ra, playing the role of Pradeep Ranganathan's friend, has executed the task assigned to him flawlessly. Malavika—who plays the female lead's mother—along with Anandaraj and Sunil Reddy, also make brief appearances on screen.

Ravi Varman's cinematography effectively brings the film's production values to the screen. Each scene is visualized against a grand backdrop, offering a visual feast for the eyes.

Set to Anirudh's music, the songs evoke a sense of dรฉjร  vu and drift by without leaving a significant impact. While the background score—infused with commercial elements—complements the colorful visuals, it ultimately fails to linger in the mind.

Editor Pradeep E. Raghav has edited the visuals in such a way that the audience can easily grasp the technological advancements depicted on screen.

Art Director Kannan S, Production Designer Muthuraj Thangraj, and Costume Designers Praveen Raja, Rinibanth, Jagat Leeri India, and Shangrihan K.S. have created a sense of magic in the mind through the way they have brought the advancements and transformations of the future to the screen.

Writer-director Vignesh Shivan has attempted to answer the questions—"Can technologies that grant whatever is asked of them truly deliver genuine love?" or "Can one discern true love within human beings through such means?"—not merely by crafting a commercial and colorful film, but by endeavoring to convey these ideas with genuine romantic sensibility.

Although Vignesh Shivan's technologically infused romantic concept bears a resemblance to a Tamil web series released previously—and while the screenplay and the technological advancements employed in its visual presentation demonstrate the truth that a story can be retold in myriad ways—it nonetheless raises the question in one's mind: Was the core premise plagiarized?

Director Vignesh Shivan—who narrates the pain of romantic separation and the strategies for achieving success in love in a manner that appeals specifically to the youth, and against the backdrop of technological advancements—has paid excessive attention to ensuring that the visuals are colorful, yet has somewhat faltered in the screenplay. Consequently, although the film meanders in many places and leaves the audience feeling weary, the energetic and refreshing performance of the protagonist, Pradeep Ranganathan, successfully rescues the movie from its narrative sluggishness.

Although Director Vignesh Shivan's screenplay and storytelling adversely affected the film in several places, it is the protagonist, Pradeep Ranganathan, alone who salvaged the movie from these flaws and ensured that the audience enjoyed it. Had he not been in this film, the result would have been akin to a meal completely devoid of salt.

Verdict : Pradeep Ranganathan has once again proven his talent by delivering a winner with the "๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—ž- ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜€๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ž๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜†" App.
