Kamal Haasan Sir was honoured with the Paidi Jairaj Film Award at the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards, recognising a remarkable career that spanned over six decades across multiple Indian film industries. Named after cinema pioneer Paidi Jairaj, the award acknowledged his significant and lasting contributions to Telugu cinema through classics like Sagara Sangamam and Swathi Muthyam.
The award was presented to Mr. Kamal Haasan by the Honourable Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. Anumula Revanth Reddy.
At a time when “pan-India cinema” is widely celebrated, Kamal Haasan Sir’s early work across languages in the 80s and 90s stood as a true foundation for the movement. The honour also celebrated a legacy defined by innovation, where his experimentation in storytelling, characterisation, and technology has continued to shape mainstream Indian cinema.
