Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayaram shine in a film that overwhelms with chaos and violence.

Por keeps you rooted to the spot throughout its runtime, it keeps you enthralled — just like a drug and the lows only seem to hit much later

Por — meaning war, it is clear that the crux of the film was the fight between Prabhu (Arjun Das) and his rival (Kalidas Jayaram) in college. It is a fight that the film begins.

culminates in a beautiful visual sequence in the latter half of the film. The violence lives and breathes in the film as a secondary character, and it is just a matter of when. And when it does pour out of the characters at different instances, it breathes life onto the screen. College is when teenagers become adults and there is a lot of chaos within and around at this time.

Por is probably one of the few films that hasn’t made this generation a caricature of sorts. Instead, it attempts to shed light on who they are and why they are the way they are.

அர்ஜூன் தாஸ் தொடர்புடைய ஆட்களை சீண்டுவதோடு அதை கல்லூரி மோதலாகவும் மாற்ற முயற்சிக்கிறார். காளிதாஸின் எண்ணத்தை புரிந்துக்கொண்டு ஒதுங்கி செல்கிறார் அர்ஜூன் தாஸ், மறுபக்கம் கல்லூரியில் நடக்கும் மாணவர் தலைவர் தேர்தலில் அரசியல் தலைவரின் மகளை எதிர்த்து போட்டியிடும் பெண் மீது ஆசிட் வீசப்படுகிறது

இதனையடுத்து நீதி கேட்டு போராடும் மாணவர்களுக்கு நியாயம் கிடைத்ததா? இல்லையா? அர்ஜூன் தாஸ் - காளிதாஸ். இருவருக்கும் இடையே நடக்கும் போர் முடிவுக்கு வந்ததா? இல்லையா? என்பதே ’போர்’ படத்தின் மீதிக்கதை.

நாயகனாக நடித்திருக்கும் அர்ஜூன் தாஸ், வழக்கும் போல் தனது காந்த குரல் மூலம் அனைவரையும் கவர்கிறார். காளிதாஸ் ஜெயராமின் மென்மையான தோற்றத்துக்கு மாற்றான கதாபாத்திரம்.அதற்குத் தக்க நடிப்பை கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்..காதல் காட்சிகளில் நன்றாகப் பொருந்தியிருக்கிறார்.

நாயகிகளாக நடித்திருக்கும் டி.ஜெ.பானு மற்றும் சஞ்சனா நடராஜன் இருவரும் கொடுத்த வேலையை குறையில்லாமல் செய்திருக்கிறார்கள். வில்லியாக நடித்திருக்கும் அம்ருதா, இன்ஸ்பெக்டராக நடித்திருக்கும் ஜான் விஜய் என படத்தில் நடித்த அனைவரும் கதைக்கு ஏற்ற சரியான நடிப்பை வழங்கியிருக்கிறார்கள்.

இசையமைப்பாளர்கள் சஞ்சித் ஹெக்டே, துருவ் விஸ்வநாத், கவுரவ் காட்கிண்டி ஆகியோரது இசையில் கேட்கும்படி இருக்கிறது. மாடர்ன் டேப் ஸ்கோர்ஸ்-ன் (ஹரிஷ் வெங்கட் & சச்சிதானந்த் சங்கரநாராயணன்) பின்னணி இசை கதையோடு பயணிக்கிறது. ஒளிப்பதிவாளர்கள் ஜிஷ்மி காளித் மற்றும் பிரஸ்லி ஆஸ்கார் டிசோசா ஆகியோரது பணி படத்திற்கு பலம் சேர்த்திருக்கிறது.

கல்லூரி படிக்கும் இரண்டு கோஷ்டிகளுக்குள் நடக்கும் காதல்,மோதல்,சாதி அரசியல் என அனைத்தையும் கலந்து ஒரு படத்தை கொடுத்திருக்கிறார் இயக்குநர் பிஜாய் நம்பியார் கதையானது பல கட்டமாக நகர்ந்து செல்வதால், எதை நோக்கி பயணிக்கிறது என்ற குழப்பம் ஏற்படுகிறது
