Lakshmi Ramakrishnan’s House Owner gets selected at International Film Festival of India 2019





Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s “House Owner” has been enjoying the privilege of consistent downpour of acclaims even before its theatrical release. With the overwhelming response from the preview and press shows to the general audiences extending their earnest appreciations, the film never missed to carve its niche of fame beyond the boundaries. Now it’s time for the entire crew to toast the celebrations for one more reason. “House Owner” gets officially selected at the Golden Jubilee year of International Film Festival of India 2019 among 26 feature films across the Indian film industry.

Sharing the news, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan says, “This was completely unexpected and It is such a bundle of surprise.  Although, I was very much happy about the way, my industry friends, press and media recieved the film, I was in a dilemma whether to change my pattern of filmmaking.  This turn of events nurtures me with more confidence to pursue my passion. I thank each and every Jury member of IFFI for selecting this film and congratulate the team of other 25 feature films and 15 non-feature films. In particular, I congratulate Parthiban sir. His innovative work gets acknowledged at the Indian Panorama. Wishing him great success for his unparalleled attempt  in Oththa Seruppu Size 7.”

Set against the backdrops of Chennai floods in 2015, “House Owner” represents the bonding of an elderly couple, cherishing memories of their past as the bittersweet events unfold.  Helmed by Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, the film is produced by her husband Ramakrishnan with Kishore, Sriranjani, Pasanga fame Kishore and Lovelyn Chandrashekar playing the lead roles.
