Jonty Rhodes Visited Velammal To Felicitate The Sports Achievers

• Velammal Vidyalaya, Alapakkam has always taken great strides in identifying and nurturing individual talents. 

• The institution had taken pride in felicitating and honouring young and talented student - achievers who have stamped their name in various disciplines of sports, and academics thereby kindling their thirst to aim higher and perform better.  

• Shri. Jonathan Neil "Jonty" Rhodes. He is a former South Africa Test and One Day International cricketer (1992-2003) and the greatest fielder in the modern era of cricket. Who is a fielding coach for IPL team – Mumbai Indians and for South Africa cricket team interacted with the students of Velammal Vidyalaya, Alapakkam.

• The highlight of the day is that the sports council, ECAYLP students and Topper of the Toppers were honored in the presence of the Guest of Honor. He gave an inspirational speech amidst the students that kindled the students’ minds.  The opinion of the legend gave an overwhelming impact on the students to play an active role in all the games.

• The student achievers learnt the value of sports and how physical fitness enables them to participate energetically in their day to day activities.
