Shwetha Shekar New Stills

Known to some, while still a new face to many, as she doesn’t hail from namma Chennai city, however is determined to make this her own, Shwetha Shekar, a girl with a stunning face blessed with a graceful personality who almost defines the term ‘beauty with brains’. At a tender age of three while other children were learning to walk and talk, she started reigning the stage with her theatrical histrionics and dance performances. She also began training for classical music around the same age. This didn’t mean she had it easy when it came to academics. “My parents have very high expectations from me,” she says. So being second to none was her motto. As she grew, she was not only sent to debates, math and science Olympiads but also for various acting, singing and dance competitions. She was also an intense sports player excelling in table tennis and basketball. “Thanks to my parents, I am who I am because of them. They are my God”, she gushes.

She has recently completed shoot for the film tentatively titled 'Aruvi' produced by Dream warrior pictures and studio green productions in which she plays “Jessie”, a smart happy go lucky, yet tenacious girl. She has also been a part of many short films and has bagged the title as the “Best Actress – Jury Award” in the Surabhi Short Film Awards (SSFA). Her short films and feature have also been screened in various international film festivals in which her performance has always had a special mention. Through this short stint, she has also been featured in over 100 ads and has hosted about 75 events for major corporates and other clients. Her fluency in understanding and communicating in various languages such as Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Punjabi, English and a few other foreign languages has made it possible for her to perform in many theatricals and musicals  all over the world.

She is eagerly awaits the release of "Thiri", a music album, composed by music director Girinand, penned by  Madhan Karky.she claims it to be a visual treat to watch out for as it has her riding through impeccable locations all over Meghalaya and Assam. She kept travelling back and forth from the USA to finish her studies in Forensic Sciences and do whatever she could as she worked during her vacations here. But now she looks forward to working in the South Indian film industry and as far as my intuition goes, this girl has the spunk it takes to have a long run and is here to stay. We wish her the best J!
