Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Adopts 25 Villages

Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities centre (DMDSC), a pioneer in diabetes care, has today announced the adoption of 25 villages for diabetes care as part of its silver jubilee celebration. To make diabetes health care available, accessible and affordable to rural people, DMDSC through its exclusive ‘Sai Rural Diabetes Specialities Centre’ will offer quality healthcare facilities to the villages located in and around Kanchipuram district. The event was presided over by Dr. J Radhakrishnan, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, His Highness Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, Prince of Arcot and Mr. T. P. Imbichammad, Chairman and Managing Director, Avalon Technologies.

With an objective to build sustainable diabetes care at affordable cost, the initiative will drive across diabetic awareness campaigns, medical camps, outreach programs on dietary planning and many more. The initiative will also have personnel including various doctors and researchers deployed in villages to study the needs of diabetic patients in the regions and prepare tailor made treatments at a subsidized cost.

The glittering event also witnessed the felicitation of five legendary doctors, who have been an inspiration for their momentous contribution to healthcare services in India.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. V. ·         Prof. K. V. Thiruvengadam, Former Professor of Medicine, Stanley Medical College and Hospital and  Madras Medical College and Govt. General Hospital, Chennai.

As part of the silver jubilee celebrations, over 100 diabetes ambassadors were honored for showcasing undying spirit in managing their health conditions despite high blood glucose level since 1991.
