Kabilan Vairamuthu’s rebellious speech at the Rotary Conference
he discussed about the hyper active information age and how tricky it is to read between the different sources of media. “Every time when we access the social media, we are being accessed too. There are huge possibilities for us being sold without our knowledge” Kabilan added. “The world is a beautiful and amicable space where we exchange ideas between societies. While the western Idea of development is based on industries, the Indian idea of development is based on humanity. The latter is an effort to cultivate peace and to identify with the nature. Practicing the same and transferring it to the next generation is the need of the hour” he explained. Kabilan concluded his 45 minutes speech by reading his poem on the recent disaster in TamilNadu. The poem had strong verses of optimism.
Rotary district governor Gunasekaran, Conference chairman Manimaran and few other delegates of the rotary association were present on the stage. The auditorium which is a capacity of three thousand seats was jam packed with members from Tanjore, Nagapattinam, Trichy,Kaaraikal, Kadaloor and Pondicherry. Asif Ali and Chezhian from Tanjore were the chief organizers of the event.
