Radikaa Sarathkumar Pre launched WE - Women Empowerment for Ficci Flo Photos
FLO Chennai is proud to launch the WE project – Women Empowerment in Education to enable employment opportunities for women. Pre-launch took place on August 18, 2015 followed by Launch of WE (Women’s Empowerment in Education) on August 26, 2015.
FICCI Ladies organization Chennai chapter in association with Maruti Suzuki Driving School (MDS) is providing the Driver Training to underprivileged women at no charge to them. MDS and FLO will assist these women in getting their Permanent Driving License on successful completion of training. FLO will also provide value added training on women safety, basic communication skills, personal health and hygiene and etiquette that will give them better opportunities for future employment.
The eligibility criteria:
· Age : 18 – 35 yrs
· Education: SSLC Pass.
· Family Annual income : below 3 lakhs
· Aadhaar card – Address & ID proof is mandate
Vijaya Bharathi Rangarajan , President of FICCI Club Chennai briefed the occasion by inviting the Government, School Owners, Security & Bus Companies while working with schools nationwide to pledge to participate actively in this initiative along with skill trainers like Maruti Driving Schools & Radiant Security Services for these jobs. It is proposed to train 125 women as drivers and 100 women as security guards and help them find placements. It’s also proposed to start SHE Taxis/ Pink Autos for employment opportunity once they finish the training.
Radikaa Sharathkumar ,who was the guest of honour for this occasion, addressed the crowd by saying that she was very happy being a part of Ficci flo’s Women empowerment and education. Inspite of many NGO’S ,working towards women empowerment , it is very thoughtful of FICCI to come forward and help to employ women , Radhika feels women could do a lot and are very protective which is why we have a lady chief minister who is ruling the state and doing a lot for women .Radikaa’s opinion was to take FICCI to a great scale as this was just an initiative.
Vanitha of All Women Police in Chennai will be helping FICCI, in terms of assistance which will be needed to encourage and support women in all possible ways she could.
Brig Albert, who heads Randiant security would be training women to be employed under the sectors and explain the eligibility criterias.
Mr Rejith displayed a visual presentation of how the training in Maruti Suzuki will take place for the women.
