Behindwoods, one of the leading entertainment portals in India, had recently honored the talents in South Indian cinema in a grand gala award function that was held at Hotel ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. The function witnessed the presence of many luminaries from the tinsel town.
The specialty of the event was that Behindwoods chose to honor the best talents from fields like Dubbing, Make-Up, Audio Label, Writing on Tamil Cinema and Marketing to name some. Fellow media houses were also honored for their contribution in their respective domain. The Hindu, VijayTV, Dinathanthi, Vikatan, Sun Music, Suryan FM were the media houses who bagged the Behindwoods Gold Medals at the ceremony. Real Image, Sathyam Cinemas and Sony were the other winners under the special categories.

Lyricists Vairamuthu and Kabilan caught the audience’s attention with their choicest words.
The highlight of the event was the honoring of Kamal Haasan with K Balachander Gold Medal for Excellence in Indian Cinema by the legendary director A C Thirulogachander. Behindwoods in association with Realworks studio had created a 3D model of K Balachander wishing Kamal Haasan all success and glory in the future.
Samantha and Hansika brought in the glamour quotient when they walked the ramp in their trendy chic outfits and accepted their gold medals. Director AR Murugadoss was quite appreciative of the supportive nature of Behindwoods when he was passing through troubled times. While director Pa.Ranjith expressed that Kaali of Mullum Malarum had a great impact on him, Siddharth dedicated his award to fellow actor Dinesh for his performance in Cuckoo.
Singers Vaikom Vijayalakshmi and Uthara Unnikrishnan mesmerized the audience with their extempore rendition of numbers without any instrumental accompaniments. Music Director Nivas Prasanna and his team gave the audience an aural treat with a variety of popular numbers.
Summing up, Behindwoods Gold Awards function turned out to be memorable for the participants and the organizers.
