Yuvan Shankar Raja launches his YouTube channel and audio label U1 Records

Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, had earlier announced during a press meet that he is in process of starting an audio label. Details of it were not much known, but yesterday 19/05/2015 he has officially announced via social media that his label would be called “U1 Records” and along with it has launched his official YouTube channel as well. His upcoming Canada concert’s teaser and trailer would be released there. The video has been shot by Director Ike, erstwhile assistant to Priyadarshan and Kamal Haasan.

Talking further about his endeavor, Yuvan said, there are multiple purposes for starting the channel and his label. On one side it is to release his own works which have been unreleased, and these include tracks, score, etc. On other side it’s also to identify new talent and give them a platform, either through independant music or film music.

Shahir Muneer, Director of Divo, the digital entertainment company that has partnered with Yuvan has stated that Yuvan is really interested in identifying new talent all over world and not limiting it to one genre and is open to all types - hip hop, western classical, carnatic, hindustani etc. And see how he can collaborate with them.
