Review : 

Legendary director Mani Ratnam back with a romantic drama O Kadhal Kanmani. Produced by himslef under the production house of Madras Talkies. Starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in lead roles. This movie also has Prakash Raj, Leela Samson, Prabhu Lakshman, Ramya Subramaniam in the other lead roles while Kanika. Music Composed by AR Rahman and cinematography by PC Sreeram.

The film, which is set in Mumbai, revolves around a young couple, Dulquer and Nithya, who are in a live-in relationship. They live in the house of an older couple, played by Prakash Raj and Leela Samson. The rest of the story is about the ups and downs in life that the couple goes through.

O Kadhal Kanmani story of a like-minded young boy and a girl in the current generation, who do not believe in the concept of marriage. Adhi (Dulquer Salman), a video-game developer comes to Mumbai for his best friend’s marriage. There he meets Thara (Nithya Menon), a building architect and gets closer with her in a very short time. They both live independently away from home, free from all the rules and regulations of the family. They both wish to go abroad and settle there. Because of their aversion to marriage, they both decide to get into a live in relationship. But they land at the crossroads of their life, when the time comes to take a decision for them to continue their live-in-relationship.

In such a situation, what decision will they take to pursue their ambitions ? Will these fiercely independent youngsters discover true love ? Would they get into wedlock or go on their own independent paths, as if nothing happened between them ? To know all these, one has to watch the film.

Mani Ratnam shows that his touch is in tact and he can still make a romance come alive on screen. Dulquer is good looking and if that's not a bonus, his screen presence and natural performance. Technically PC Sreeram's perfect cinematography with AR Rahman's brilliant music are the highlights of the movie. Editing by Sreekar Prasad is perfect. Nitya Menon is the soul of this picture, its biggest strength, as she brings alive her character with not just those expressive eyes and infectious smile. Prakash Raj and Leela Samson have given a dignified performance. There are some sweet moments in the film, which will surely connect the youngsters of the present generation.
