K Balachander Foundation Launched Officially

We are very happy to announce the formation of a trust in the memory of our beloved director K Balachander called K Balachander foundation. Mrs Rajam Balachander is the author of the trust and the other members of the trust are myself Pushpa Kandaswamy (daughter), my brother Prasanna Balachander, my brothers wife Mrs Geetha Kailasam , my husband Mr Kandaswamy Bharathan and film director and our well wisher Mr Vasanth sai. 

We plan to do a number of activities in the trust. Firstly we intend to provide financial aid in the form of scholarships to deserving children of the film employees. Second to institute a K Balachander award for creative excellence for students of visual communications. Third we propose to conduct an annual event on his birthday 9th July every year and give away awards in the field of theatre, cinema and television in which he was a colossus.  Fourthly, we propose to create a digital archive of all  of his works and set up a permanent exhibition of his awards and photographs for the benefit of the members of the film industry and public. Fifth, we are instituting an award for creative excellence in the name of his first son Mr B Kailasam who is known as a pioneer in the field of television content creation. Sixth to bring out a book on interesting facts relating to the life and work of K Balachander which is being written by Mr Vasanth sai one of the directors nurtured by kb.
