James Vasanthan says about Vaanavil Vaazhkai

With his debut as Music Director in the film ‘ Subramanyiapuram’ Popular Television VJ James Vasanthan made us amused. Following hits like Pasanga, Nanayam, Eesan he made a very strong fan base for himself. With all the regular stories to stay aside he debuts as director with the musical film ‘ Vaanavil Vaazhkai’.

Like all the films under his music direction his directorial debut has some unique and first of its kind thing. The film is a musical film where the actors sing and perform. The film has 17 songs. Actors who are debuting in this film are trained musician and singers. Popular Carnatic Singer Sowmya turns actor and Playback Singer Harish Ragavendra turns lyric writer with the song ‘ Super girl’.  

“ Music always been important thing in my life. I wanted to compose music for a musical. But In Tamil Cinema Music is considered only as a part of a film.  None initiated to write to a script that gives important to music. I myself started writing a script which now turned as ‘ Vaanavil Vaazhkai’, a musical. “ says James

“The script is based on important things of my college life the male lead character Jack is James Vasanthan in real life. The 17 songs in the expresses different moods of our life. I have made a bunch of youngsters act in the film.  They are all trained musicians, new to acting but have done a good job. This films is for the youngsters and by the youngsters. We are keeping our fingers crossed for audience’s million dollar feedback.” adds the musician turned director James Vasanthan.
