About Oru cup coffee 

A theatre script written by Jagadeesh Kanna which won “Runner Up” Award in an International theatre festival “ Chennai Short and Sweet in 2013”, Its performed under KiKass Production and Directed by Rohini Rau as Theatre Play. It won various awards in entire festival.
Since jagadeesh been an assistant director (Under Mrs.Anita Udeep – Kulir 100 , Gulliver’s Travel (English) ), Planned to take the “Oru Cup Coffee” script into 20 Min Filmy version.

He Himself Produced “Oru Cup Coffee” under his banner “Mind Funk Creation” in collaboration with Manzara films, Backpacker studios and Cosmic Creative labs.
Oru Cup Coffee had been sent more than 9 countries for international festivals including cannes.

Chennai International Short Film Festival selected the film under “Indian Panorama” Section. The Movie’s World premier going to happen on 18th FEB in Russian cultural centre, Chennai. Feature film version of the same script under pre production process.

About the Director

Basically an Aeronautical Engineer turned theatre artist/Script writer/theatre Director because of  sheer passion and interest, Who is a well known theatre artist in Chennai theatre circle & also an Entrepreneur of paper Aero modeling company “Vaayu Sastra” and now started to bloom his career into Film Industry as an actor in a movie titled “Boomerang” as Lead Cast (title may subject to change) A crowd funded tamil movie directed by Mr.Dinesh Babu Selvaraj former associate of Maniratnam which is under post production and Jagadeesh Kanna been currently associate directing for an untitled movie Directed by Mr.Bharath Martin (asst of AL.Vijay)  Jagadeesh debut as theatre director happened in july 2014 with “The Door” a sci-fi theatre play for international theatre festival “Short&Sweet 2014 chennai”  He won “Best Director” for the same.

Story Synopsis

Commercial Synopsis :
An Encounter between a Mentally Disordered mercy killing Doctor and a ruthless
encounter killing cop. How they both justify their killings and Did cop gets to
encounter the psychopath doctor?

Technical Synopsis :

Story starts off with a cop pushing two people inside a isolated garage, revealing cop brought them to kill those two people in encounter for their mercy killings they did in the name of doctor. The two people includes a calm doctor and roughly speaking person and A shady character shown throughout the conversation portraying he is trying to interact with cop and doctor and a dumbly portrayed constable. After the title card the story starts with “After half an hour” cop coughing and he slowly losing his consciousness, rewind shots of past half an hour revealing everything you saw is a detailed version of doctor’s split personality disorder and schizophrenic disorder and there is no shady character. The roughly speaking character is a other personality of doctor and the shady character is doctor’s father who killed himself when doctor was very young. Established he still lives as a imaginary character. During the conversation cop and doctor both justifying their killings and in the climax its revealed how doctor gets to kill the cop even its hands being tied and why the constable behaves dumb etc., revealing the answers of all the question. With a tag line “Peace is Very
Important for Life”

Mercy killing is far better than encounter killing and Peace is very important for life.
