Review : 

Lingaa is a Tamil film directed by K.S. Ravikumar, who also scripted the film in collaboration with the film's dialogue writer, Pon Kumaran. The film stars Rajinikanth playing dual role, Jagapati Babu, Anushka Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha, Santhanam, Karunakaran, in the lead roles. Music was composed by A. R. Rahman, while cinematography was headed by R. Rathnavelu.

Vishwanath who is the leader of Solaiyur village, people of this village who had good respect over him and obey his rules. Jagapathi who is the MP of this village, who murdered Ponnvannan who is a government officer. Before he dies, he asks Vishwanathan to open the temple which was not opened for long time and then died.

To open this temple, Vishwanath wants grandchild of Lingeswaren to come and open. In this case, Anushka who is grandchild of Vishwanath with his permission searching for Lingaa (Rajinikanth).

Rajini with his friends Santhanam and Karuna doing illegal activities  in Chennai. In related to this they three are going to jail. Anushka takes them out and calling to their village. But Rajini declines this.  And finally he came with Anushka.

After coming to that village, Vishwanath tells to Rajini that the Lingaa inside the temple was done by precious stone and should take care of it. But Rajini plans to take that out and settle in life. At the same time, he introduces Rajini to his village people and described about his grandfather’s good manners. By hearing this, Rajini felt very happy and planned to go out of that village

At that time, he come to know that MP of this village who is doing all the bad things and not allowing to build bridge and planning to occupy this temple. Finally, Rajini spoils the MP’s plan or not? The film goes.

Rajinikanth’s introduction song was very fantastic. His dialogues are simply interesting and enthusiastic and sputtering with crackers.

Both Heroin characters are very good. A.R.s Music was always fantastic. Background music are very powerful. Sonakshi Sinha looks great and performs very well. Anushka has done a decent job in her role as TV reporter. Santhanam is good comic relief with his slapstick humour. Amaran and Sabu Cyril art work was marvellous. Cinematography was very nice throughout the film. Director K.S. Ravikumar as usual gives his extraordinary effort to this film...
