Porkkuthirai Movie Artist and Director

Chaitanya :

He has acted in several short films and he is a classical dancer. He is getting introduced as Hero in Tamil through the film PORKKUTHIRAI. Film director Sri Prawin says, “After this film Chaitanya’s acting and the character would get fame since he has worked hard particularly in the fight sequences. Even he got hurt in those sequences and worked with full dedication”.

Chandini :

Veteran Actor and Director Bhagyaraj introduced Chandini as heroine in the film ‘Sidhu +2’. Then she acted as Nakul’s pair in the film ‘Naan Raajavaaka Pokiren”. Now she has acted as a village Brahmin girl in ‘Porkkuthirai’. Film director Sri Prawin says,” I selected her as my film’s heroine because of her beautiful and attractive eyes, innocent face and appearance looks like a village girl”. He also says that he was excited with the acting and performance through her eyes, she lost lot of chances for the sake of this film and acted with full interest.

Nagi Needu :

He got introduced through Thangarbachan’s film ‘Pallik Koodam’. Recently he acted in Santhanam’s film, ‘Vallavanukku Pullum Ayudam’ as heroine’s father and villain. Now in Porkkuthirai he has acted as Hero’s father and shown his natural way of acting. Film director Sri Prawin says that he has not just acted instead he has lived as the character.

Kavitha Srinivasan :

She is a Chennai based Tamil women who has acted in stage plays worldwide. Director Sri Prawin saw her performance in a stage show and made her to act as a brave, fearless, daring women character in this film. He says, “Surely audience would talk about her performance after watching this film”.

Pankaj :

For Porkkuthirai film a negative character like Raguvaran was needed. In the audition, director was not satisfied with any one in spite of watching several performances. Finally he selected Pankaj who is acting as a hero in Bhojpuri films. Hero in Bhojpuri film is getting introduced as villain in Tamil film.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR :

Director Sri Prawin has worked as an assistant to Hindi Film director Ram Gopal Varma. Then in Ram Gopal Varma Company’s production itself he directed his first Telugu Film “Gaayam-2” in
which the hero was Jagabathi Babu, heroine was Vimala Raman and the music composed by Maestro Illayaraja. Now his second film, he is directing in Tamil titled, ‘Porkkuthirai’. Attracted by the Madurai’s fragrance, people’s behavior and Tamil language he made this film in Usilampatti’s background. “The war between an innocent and the criminals is Porkkuthirai film’s base”, says director Sri Prawin.

Inspired by the film of directors, Bharathiraja, Balumahindra, Manirathnam, Bala, Ameer, Selvaragavan, Gautam menon, Ram, Vetrimaaran, Sasikumar and the way Tamil audience welcoming the new experiments in the film persuade him to make a Tamil film says the director Sri Prawin. He has shot this film in Madurai, Usilampatti and its surroundings like Karumaathur, Vaalanthur, A.Vellalapatti, Melur and in Andhra areas like Vigarabath, Thandoor. “Film work is in the final stage and audio will be releasing soon”, says director Sri Prawin.
