Review :

“Kaaviya Thalaivan” Directed by Vasantha Balan and Produced by Varun Manian and S. Sashikanth. Siddharth, Prithiviraj, Vedhicka, Nasser, Anaika Soti and Thambi Ramaiah are in the key roles in the historical-fiction. Music by AR Rahman. Cinematography Nirav Shah.

Kaaliyappa Bhagavadhar (Siddharth) and Komathi Nayagam Pillai (Prithviraj) are growing from childhood in a Drama Troupe. Sivadaasa Suvaamigal (Nassar) is the head of that company. Later Vadivaambal (Vedhicka) also joins in that group. Prithviraj falls in love with Vedhicka, but she loves Siddharth. Siddarth express all the historical characters in a different way. So Nassar gets impressed and gives a main role to him. This irritates Prithviraj and he gets angry with Nassar as well as Siddharth.

In between the Princess Rangammal (Anaika) of that territory falls in love with Siddharth. Due to this, a problem has raised between Siddharth and Nassar. Finally Nassar died. After that Prithviraj becomes the head and throw away the Siddharth from the group. Prithviraj grown as a big artist. Still Vedhicka refuses Prithviraj’s love. After some incidents, Siddharth joins with Prithviraj. Once again Prithviraj’s poison tree has grown. Finally what Prithviraj will do against Siddharth is the climax.

Siddharth, Vedhika and Prithviraj have given their best ever performances. Nassar, Ponvannan, Anaika Soti, Singampuli, Thambi Ramaiah and the rest of the support cast have lent very good support to the leads. Hats off to Director Vasantha Balan for giving a period film. Veteran Tamil writer Jeyamohan dialougues arerefreshing. Kaaviya Thalaivan is flawless especially AR Rahman’s songs and background score the composer has shown his class in the film. Nirav Shah’s cinematography beautifully picturized the 1940’s period.

Verdict : Kaaviya Thalaivan is Super Drama

Rating : 4/5
