Why did Rajini wish Jaya?

Actor Rajinikanth issued a statement greeting AIADMK Jayalalithaa. In a statement today, Rajinikanth, said, 'Glad to have you back in Poes Garden. Praying good times for you. Always wishing u well for good health and peace'.  

He is curently acting in Linga, directed by K S Ravikumar. Anushka and Sonakshi play heroines.
The buzz is why did he wish Jaya? Many say that she being his neighbour, he chose to do the same.
