Song written on flight for AI – Lyricist Kapilan’s Experiences on Working with Shankar and AR Rahman.

Kapilan as penned 3 songs for Movie AI on AR Rahman’s music. He shared his experience with Shankar while writing a song  while flying and another song  sitting on top slip of  kodaikanal.

Sitting and writing for Shankar sir is a pleasant moment. First he will brief the song situation where it takes place .  Then he will explain the shooting location of the songs using internet.  He will show the costume photos of hero and heroine, after he will play the AR R’s music.  By this he brings me a pleasant mind set to pen the songs.

He also says what should come on the lines of the song. After this we must switch to our imagination.  We left for kodaikanal to pen a song.  Shankar sir thought of writing the song on a highest place.  Before reaching Madurai on plane itself we have penned the song. Before landing we have few pallavi’s.  After that left ina car,stayed on kodaikanal  peaks and penned there.Then verses sent for Rahman, and came out as an wonderful song.  Till finalizing the song I have been waken up for Rahman sirs cal to change the verses. Another song penned by me in this film as sung by anirudh.
