proudly celebrates Poets Day and Festival of Arts and Literature on Sunday
the 13th of July, 2014 at Khodesia
Complex Hall, Coimbatore.
As a prestigious part
of this celebration, VTP celebrates the 60th Birthday of
Kavipperarsu Vairamuthu and also felicitates Kavipperarasu on his being
conferred the Padma Vibhushan.
10 AM Traditional
Tamil music opens the celebrations.
Symposium on Arts and
Literature is being presided over by the Chairperson of Shakthi Group of
Companies, Dr. N.Mahalingam.
Former President of
India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam graces the occasion as the Guest Of Honor

Honourable Minister of
Youth Welfare and Sports of Malaysia, Datto Saravanan and Hon. Justice of
Chennai High Court,Vimala deliver felicitation speeches.
Kavipperarsu
Vairamuthu delivers keynote address.
4 PM World Tamils
Conclave of Adulation commences.

Dr. Avvai Natarajan presides over.

5PM. A Symposium on the Creations of
Kavipperarasu Vairamuthu begins.
His Holiness Ponnambalam Adigalar presides
over.
Lectures are delivered on Kallikkaattu
Ithikasam by Cumbum. P. Selvendran, Karuvachi Kaviyam by Dr. Parveen Sultana,
Moonram Ulagappor by Stalin Gunashekaran, Aayiram Baadalkal by Marabin Mainthan
Muthiah.
Vairamuthu Oru Palalaikkazhakam, a collection
of 60 rsearch papers by Scholars from various Universities, on the works of
Vairamuthu, will be released during the
occasion by O.Arumugasamy and the first copy is being received by M.Krishnan.
This work was compiled by Dr. T. Gnanashekaran and published by Kavya
Shanmugasundaram.
Poets Day Award is
being conferred on Thiru KalyanJi.
7 PM. Directors
belonging to four generations felicitate the Poet.

K.Balachander, BharathiRaja, ManiRatnam, and K.S.RaviKumar take part and
felicitate and Kavipperarasu Vairamuthu delivers the acceptance note.
Earlier on the 12th of July,
Kavipperarasu Vairamuthu leads a Procession of Tamil, highlighting demands such
as making Tamil compulsory in all schools of Tamil Nadu, To Proclaim
Thirukkural as the National Book and to make Tamil a language of Courts. Tamil
scholars, enthusiasts and students take part in large numbers in this
procession.
The procession originates at Kovai Sivanada
Colony and concludes at VKK Menon Salai.
On July the 12th at Ponne Gounder
Puthur Village, a unique endeavour christened as VairaVanam takes birth. Under
this novel idea, 6000 saplings are to be planted in the village within a year.
This initiative is carried out by Siruthuli, Town Panchayat Vice President
Sathya moorthy, and Rock foundations
convener Ravindran and ably supported by Vetri Thamizhar Peravai,
Mariamman Temple trust, Environment Protection and Development Movement, People
of PoneeGoundenPuthur,
Rotary Clubs sponsor the drip irrigation
facilities for this noble effort.
As part of this celebrations, 60 schools will
be gifted with an Ark consisting of 36 creations of Kavipperarasu Vairamuthu.
Literary Competitions based on the works of
Kavipperarasu Vairamuthu are being
conducted in colleges and schools all over Tamil Nadu, and prizes worth Rs.
60,000 are given away. 60 Tamil Enthusiasts donate their blood.
The felicitation committee is headed by Dr.
N.Mahaingam. The Secretary of the committee Marabin Mainthan Muthiah, Treasurer
Kovai Ramesh, Members of the Organizing Committee Murugan,
A.Mariappan,V.P.Kumar, Thanjai Era.Chezhiyan, Procession of Tamil Organizer
Na.Venkataesh and Members of Vetrith Thamizhar peravai of entire Tamil Nadu are
leaving no stone unturned to make the event a grand success.
