The Chennai Women’s international Film Festival 2014 Details

The Chennai women’s International film festival is also popularly known as CWIFF. The event is exclusive to throw the limelight on women in films, from directors to actors. Women have played a phenomenal role and CWIFF provided a platform for women as well as budding talent to express their creative minds in an international stature.

The beginning of this event is marked with an Inauguration held in Vani Mahal, T.Nagar on the 20^th may, 2014 at 6:00 pm. Spreading over a span of 6 days the event will play host to the gargantuan talent among us. The screening of 177 films from entries that has crossed boundaries to over 26 countries will be held in two theatres RKV, Vadapalani and PVR, Ampa skywalk mall. The screening is open to public.

 CWIFF presented four platforms to submit the entries for the filmmakers.

1.       Short film

2.       Ad film

3.       Documentary

4.       Feature film

The films screened were judged by an esteemed jury panel.the advisory and jury memnbers Mr. Madhan, Mr. Sathish Kumar, Ms. J.S. Nandini and Ms. V. Priya, Mr. crazy Mohan and Mr. Prathap K. Pothan all have been overwhelmed with the response for the event and feel that women have a lot of talent and creativity but they weren’t given opportunities however CWIFF provided them with a platform to shine. The CWIFF network expands globally with many alliances and associates, naming a few would include Thenuka Kantharajah and Vijay Y Pathkar. We have been able to garner worldwide attention and responses.

The   winners of CWIFF will be honored and recognized and awarded with trophy, cash prizes and certificates.

The valedictory and award show for this women centric event will be held at Ethiraj College at 6:00pm on 25^th may 2014. The entry for Inauguration and closing ceremony is free for public.
