150 Dental camps to be held reaching 1.5 lakh people.

Ragas Dental College and Hospital, Chennai 's premier dental educational institution is celebrated its silver jubliee, at the college campus today ( 29 th)  ,  Hon. Governor of Tamil Nadu  Dr. K. Rosiah preside over the function . The  year long silver jubilee celebration will see at least a 150 dental camp in a matter of six month reaching more than 1.5 lakh people.

Ragas Dental College and Hospital was started in 1989 to increase the awareness and provide much needed oral health care work force due importance. The college was founded by Dr. B. P. Rajan, former Vice-chancellor of The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and former Principal, the Tamil nadu Government Dental College. It is offering undergraduate, postgraduates in all specialties besides PhD degrees and dental ancillary courses.

The college had a humble beginning in 1989 with 40 undergraduate students now has expanded to 500 UG students and 150 PG students in main stream dental course. The college has a strong alumni of more than 1500 dentists spread all over 5 continents and all states of India. The College currently has a team of over 200 highly qualified and motivated teachers and staff members who continuously strive to ensure that the highest quality of dental education is delivered. It is still one of the Pioneers and long serving dental college in the entire country.

The college has an active Dental Stem Cell research wing that was initiated nearly a decade ago and highly successful one. This college is one of the very few institutions in the world to initiate and sustain such dental stem cell research activity till date.

The college is run by Jaya Eductaional Trust chaired by Prof. Kanagaraj and Mrs. Vijayakumari. This is the 25th year of the inception of the Ragas Dental College and Hospital and the silver jubliee Function was held at the Colleg campus. The Function was  presided by His Excellency. Dr. K. Rosiah, The Hon. Governor of Tamil Nadu. This year long silver jubilee celebration will see at least a 150 dental camp in a matter of six month reaching more than 1.5 lakh people. As a mark of its gratitude, the college would be honoring the vice-chancellors of the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and their own mentor and faculties.
