Karthi’s Awarness Short Film

Actor Karthi  has been the' ambassador' for Lysosomal Storage Disorder(LSD)  Support Society from 2011. He has involved himself in creating awareness through press conferences, television programs etc and championed  the cause of children affected by the group of rare genetic disorder.

Earlier Karthi has donated the prize money of Rs.12 Lakhs he won in the Television game show Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi, hosted by his brother Suriya to the society. In an award function for achievers among children victimized by this disease yesterday Karthi donated Rs.5 Lakhs towards the treatment for victims of this rare disease.

While speaking at the event, Karthi drew attention to the fact that medicine for this disease has to be imported from countries like America and pleased to the Government to waive the import duty on medicines to treat LSD.

Karthi also stated that he is collecting materials to make a short film about the disease, to boost the awareness campaign to a higher level and assured that he will arrange to screen the short film prior to the screening of the movie he acts hereafter.
