Malini 22 Palayamkottai Movie Review and Rating

Malini 22 Palayamkottai Drama come thriller, staring  Nithya Menen in the title role while Krish J. Sathaar and Naresh play supporting roles. A remake of the Malayalam film 22 Female Kottayam (2012) by Aashiq Abu, the film will feature musical score by Arvind-Shankar. 

Malini (Nitya Menen) is a young nurse, who is working in a private hospital and hoping to find a job. Her parents are no more and she has a younger sister ,Malini’s life changes after she meets a young man Krish Sathar,She falls for his ample charms quite easily, goes with him to a pub, gets drunk and even moves in to his apartment as she waits for her visa. But fate had different plans in store for her.

Handling a subject like rape, it’s surprising to find that there’s no room for sympathy in the film. All the sympathy is gathered up and presented as motivation for revenge. And in latter half, her transformation into the bold and revenge-seeking girl is too fast and looks unconvincing. Despite a powerful climax sequence, the film struggles because of its meandering first half.

Verdict : Revenge drama that falls short due to half-baked execution. Wonderful performances by the lead actors make the film worth a watch.
