and Soori play pivotal roles. Director Rajesh has penned the dialogues while Imman

Story :
Silukkuvarpatti is a village which has two
gangsinvolving in each of its good and bad. Bose Pandi is a carefree arrogant
youngster who heads the association VaruthaPadathaValibarSangam which acts as a
welfare club which serves justice when it is missed. The village’s senior
citizens are headed by Sivanandi (Sathyaraj) who solves petty issues and has a
control over the whole area. Fate makes these two extreme characters to lock
horns with each other and what happens carries the story forward.
Review :
It would not be an exaggeration to say that
Director Pon Ram's has joined the list of directors who have delivered a great
entertainer in their debut film. The screenplay work of the film maker is
something which gives crispness to the film throughout.
Right from the very beginning the film
grabs our interest as the story jumps into flashback mode after a serious
opening. The flashback holds the cameo
role of BinduMadhavi and is filled with songs and situational comedies.
Well, this being the case with the first
half, the director has lot more content to reveal in the second, which makes
the film as an engaging presentation on the whole. The director has given
convincing reasons for each and every happening instead of presenting an
inappropriately and loosely packed story.
Among the two main characters
Sivakarthikeyan and Sathyaraj, it is the senior artiste who is the best pick in
acting. Sathyaraj’s looks are so very convincing that we get a feel that he
must have started accepting such roles a couple of years earlier in his career.
Though Sivakarthikeyan remains as the
center of attraction, the nature of his character, which we have seen him
playing in films like ManamKothiParavai and KediBillaKilladiRanga, has nothing
new to offer. Still the actor has managed to show a little bit of variations
along with an extra bit of arrogant mannerisms and style.
Actor Soori, not only excels as a comedian
in the film, but has also rendered the much needed support for the male lead
role. Soori has once again proved that he is a perfect guy to play a comedian
in a rural based subject.
Debutante Sri Divya is looking great in the
role of a bubbly village girl, but only time has to prove her adaptability to
different roles.
Imman, whois having a dream run in
Kollywood for the past couple of years, has delivered two instant hits 'OodhaColour
Ribbon' and 'IndhaPonnungaleIppadidhan'. Apart from these two tracks the melody
which sticks to our heart is 'Pakkadha ..Pakkadha'.
Rating : 3.5 / 5
