Segovia School of Music 2nd Annual Day Photos

Segovia School of Music celebrated its 2nd Annual Day on 14th September 2013, at the Museum Theatre, Egmore featuring performances from its young students. Event was presided over by Mr. Krishnakumar, upcoming Music Director in the Tamil Film Industry. Dr. G. J. Vasanth Peter, Correspondent of SANGEET – school of Music & Sangeetha Vidhwan Mr. Isaac Solomon were the guest of honors for the evening. 

Segovia School of Music, which is located at Anna Nagar, teaches to play Guitar, Piano, Keyboard, Violin, Flute, Recorder & Drums and trains on Carnatic and Western Vocals as well. It’s just about the second annual day for the school, but there were many notable and spirited performances from its students.

Immanuel Thiyakeswaran, who has completed 8th grade exams from Trinity College in Keyboard, Violin and ATCL from Trinity College in Piano performed two solo songs and mesmerized the chief guests and the audience. While it was a smooth performance, Kavya on the drums was like a thunderbolt and shook the audience. Not to mention the standing ovation for her performance. 

There were totally 38 performances by the students, which lasted for little more than two hours. Sundaresan on the Piano performed to the audiences delight. Immanuel and Sundaresan on the Piano, Dhanush and Akash on the Guitar, Kavya on Drums were given special awards for their performance by the Chief Guests. 

Parents and Students extended their support by staying till the last performance and encouraged the performers. Mr. Jahabar Sadique, Founder & Director, delivered the Vote of Thanks and thanked the parents, students and the music teachers for their support and effort.

It was one memorable day for the students for the wonderful opportunity, for the parents to see their children perform on a big day and for the teachers to see their students deliver on a big stage. Going by the standards set today, we are sure to see a grand show in the next annual day come September 2014. Stay Tuned!
