CURTAIN RAISER-
While Universal Pictures is celebrating its 100th anniversary, Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi thriller, ‘Jurassic Park’ is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. As a mark of commemoration, the epic tale of action and adventure is being released in 3D, after having been re-mastered into a state-of-the-art 3D format. Written by Michael Crichton in the year 1990, the rights to film it was acquired by Steven Spielberg even prior to its publication. Following its release in 1993, the film made at a cost of $ 63 million was critically as well as commercially acclaimed by the audience as well as the critics and it stood out as the highest grossing film of that period, tallying a total of nearly $ 900 million only to be overtaken by James Cameron’s ‘Titanic’, four years later. ‘Jurassic Park’ is still ranked as the 25th highest grossing film worldwide and 20th highest grossing film in North America. The film bagged Academy awards in three categories: Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects. Two sequels- ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’ and ‘Jurassic Park 3’ were made subsequently in 1997 and 2001 respectively. While the second one was wielded by Steven Spielberg himself, the third one was directed by Joe Johnston. ‘Jurassic Park 4’ has been scheduled for release on the 13th of June in 3D!

SYNOPSIS-
The film’s story was centered on the fictional Isla Nublar near Costa Rica’s Pacific coast where a billionaire philanthropist and his dedicated team of genetic scientists create an exclusive amusement park with cloned dinosaurs!
 John Hammond the CEO of InGen is the brain behind this theme park called ‘Jurassic Park’. Things turn topsy-turvy as a workman gets killed by a dinosaur which lets loose a chain of incidents and as a remedial measure, the investors represented by the attorney, Donald Gennaro, demand that the safety measures are to be certified as being safe by a team of experts consisting of a mathematician, Ian Malcolm, paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant and a botanist, Dr. Ellie Sattle. The team entire the premises in a specially designed jeep with a view to tour the park as the grandchildren of Hammond too accompany them. Unexpected things happen during the tour inside the confines of the park and a few lives are even lost and the remaining survivors are transported in a chopper to safety…
