Kalla Thuppakki, the film which was in the headlines for the title clash issue with Thuppakki, is directed by Logiyaas with new faces Prabakaran, Vickky, Anand, SB Tamil Selvan, Vijith and Shravanthika in the lead roles.

Storyline :
The film revolves around the rivalry between a teacher and a group of five students. Sampath Ram works as a PT Teacher in a government boys higher secondary school in which Prabakaran, Vickky, Anand, S.B Tamil Selvan and Vijith study. Sampath Ram's strictness hinders the gang's happiness in school and hence they plan to bring him down. As the rivalry intensifies, the group of five, plans to send Sampath Ram out of school and succeed in it. The gang of students, who maintain a good rapport with Sampath Ram's daughter Shravanthika, get kiddnapped by a unknown gang. From here the story takes a series of twist and the second half reveals the reason behind it.

Highlights :
First to be mentioned is the cinematography by A.V Vasanth. He has worked hard behind the lens which can be visibly felt in the scenes. Especially, the shots taken in the narrow streets and the chase sequences are remarkable.The cinematographer has used a dull tone in certain scenes to give a realistic feel.

Background music by SK Balachandran impresses us every now and then, but the guitar scores reminds us of something which we heard before. None of the songs leaves an impression.

Minuses :
Titled Kalla Thuppakki, the story travels in a different angle in the first half, which misleads us.

Too much of viloence could have been avoided . The unwanted violence in certain places makes us hate the film at times. The end has got noting to do with what we have seen before. Moreover, no message is delivered towards the end, which leaves a big question of "With what purpose the film was taken".
