10th CIFF Press Meet Stills
The 10th
Chennai International Film Festival is organized by Indo Cine Appreciation
Foundation with the support of Government of Tamil Nadu and Film Fraternity
from 13th to 20th December 2012.
ABOUT INDO CINE APPRECIATION
FOUNDATION:
Indo Cine
Appreciation Foundation known as ICAF, a
registered Film Society, has been working for promotion of good cinema in
Chennai with about 500 members including Film Directors, cinematographers, cine
technicians and film lovers. ICAF
started organizing – CHENNAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (CIFF) - from the year
2003 and each edition of CIFF has seen a gradual growth in terms of attendance
as well as popularity.
FESTIVAL VENUES:
The 10th
Edition of CIFF will screen more than 160
films from more than 57 countries
in Woodlands, Woodlands Symphony, Inox (
2 screens), Sathyam ( 2 Screens), Rani Seethai Hall and Casino.
Support from the Government of Tamil Nadu
Like last
year CIFF will be receiving the support of Government of Tamil Nadu including Financial Support.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FESTIVAL:
(a) WORLD
CINEMA SECTION
The Best of
World cinema made in the past 12 months will be screened during the festival
which includes award winning and acclaimed films… like

AMOUR by Michael Haneka : won 2012 Cannes Palme D’Or (Golden
Palme) award plus screened in more than
50 festivals within a span of 6 months

2012 Venice Golden Lion award
winner PIETA (South Korea) by Kim ki-duk ( it won total four awards in
Venice)

The latest creation of Moshen Makhmalbaf : The film THE
GARDENER (Iran)
·
LE GRAND SOIR (The Grand Evening) (France) by Gustave de
Kervern which won Special Jury award in
2012 Cannes
·
SISTER (France / Switzerland ) by Ursula Meier : Won
the 2012 Berlin Silver Bear Award

Film WAR WITCH (Canada) by Kim
Nguyen which got Rachel Mwanza the best
actress award in Berlin 2012

Opening and Closing Functions highlights:
The Opening Function
on 13th December will start with the performance by the students
from the Music School of A R Rahman and the Closing
