Junior Film Maker 2012 Announces 3rd Annual Award Winners Of National Level Short Film Competition Stills






JUNIOR FILM MAKERS’2012 ANNOUNCES 3RD ANNUAL AWARD WINNERS OF NATIONAL LEVEL SHORT FILM COMPETITION HELD IN CHENNAI PRESENTED BY ANANTARA.
Chennai, 31st October 2012: Soul Element throws light into a unique vision by announcing “Junior Film Makers 2012” (JFM 2012), a national level short film competition & 3rd Annual awards. The event officials are proud to exclaim JFM as an initiative rather than an event, focused on hunting down the synonym of the word ‘talent’ which has been encouraged and this initiative is supported by ‘anantara’,  a music organization which carries out concerts for assisting social cause initiatives.
As media students, individuals have a unique way of contemplating an idea, one of the main factors needed to increase the reputation of the Indian film industry. And it has been proven that JFM builds strong platform to urge the youth and bring their claded talent to limelight.

As many as 240 students from across the country participated in the competition held at PVR cinemas. Participants from Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kerala and Ranchi took part in the short film contest in which 13 films were in the students category and 13 in the professional one. The entries were  filtered into  selected 26 films, which was in turn  screened at PVR, & judged by Sri Chitra Lakshmanan and Sriram Padmanabhan, an elite juries. Event inauguration was done by eminent movie director Sri Dharani. On 31st Oct’12, director Dharani adjudged “Mallipoo” by U Bhaskar as the winner. The story of the film revolves around a flower vendor who works hard to buy clothes for her son. Satish Chandrasekar’s short film “BE MBA”, which is about a boy who was pressurized by his parents to study, while he wanted to become a filmmaker, was chosen in the professional category. Director Vasanth adjudged “Move on” by Abithsha, the best ad film, while “Footprints of Hope”, a documentary on the lifestyle of a tortoise by Sumit S Agne was chosen as the winner in the documentary category. “Several participants of the previous two editions are now working in the film industry, and Mr.Shekar of NEED TRUST, also CEO of ‘anantara’ had encouraged these  students in this new platform”, said a representative of Soul Element, which organized the competition.

Following the screening of short listed films on October 29th and 30th, 2012 the nominations of the 3rd annual awards (JFM 2012) was screened and awarded by the icons of film industry. Winners  walked away with a sum of Rs.25,000 while other cash prizes were  given to film-makers who were judged the best, among various categories.
