Maalai Pozhuthin Mayakathile Review and Rating

Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey is a romantic love story directed by debutant Narayan Ragavendra Rao with Aari and Subha is the lead roles. Balaji, Panchu Subbu and Tejaswini have played supporting characters in this flick.

Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey story :

The film is about a love story which sprouts out between two characters Ajay (played by Aari) and Jiya (played by Subha) when they happen to meet in a coffee shop. Aar is a guy who is tries to become a filmmaker and jiya is a carefree girl who aspires to do her higher studies in Australia.

Fate decides both of them to meet at a coffee shop and Ajay, who sees Jiya there, gets interested in her. Ajay learns that its Jiya's birthday today by listening to her phone conversation and tries to impress her with a birthday cake. Luckily, his attempt works out and the duo begin their conversation.

Their conversation runs for hours and meanwhile, Ajay, who develop feelings for her tries to confess his love, during which he realizes that Jiya hates love and is in pursuit of doing higher studies in Australia.

After they both part ways and the twist in the tale arises when Jiya realizes that she is in love with Ajay. What happens next whether Ajay and Aari get united or their pursuit pulls them apart forms the rest of the story.

Minuses :

The film falls flat due to the lack of a good reason for Ajay and Jiya to fall in love. In the recent times, films showcase the love track between the leads just as a part of the story. But this is the case only in films which have a separate story to unfold.

When in it comes to a romantic love story like MPM (Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey), there should be a good reason for the lead characters to find love in each other, otherwise the film will lack the interest. Just a conversation which develops on a coffee shop, being given as a reason for Ajay and Jiya's love, is not acceptable.

Highlights :

Music director Achu has done well with his background score which adds good feel to the story. Especially the song 'En Uyire' and the promotional song 'Oh baby Girl' sounds really good.

Gopi Amarnath's cinematography is neat and clean. His lens work has captured the song sequences beautifully and give a rich feel throuought.
