Krishnaveni Panjalai movie story :
The story rolls on from late 1960's where Krishna Moorthy (played by Rajiv Krishna) succeeds as the managing director of the cotton mill. With his innovative ideas Krishna Moorthy runs a brisk business which results in high productivity.
The story slowly travels from 60's to the 80's where we see the movie's lead pair Kathir (Hemachandran) and Poongodhai (Nandana) in love. On the other hand Poongodhai's elder sister Meenakshi is in love with Kathir's friend (Shanmugam)
Poongodhai's mother (Renuka) who is very staunchly believes caste systems refuses for the wedding when Meenakshi proposes her wish to marry Shanmugam. Disappointed by her mother's decision Meenakshi marries Shanmugam secretly without the concern of her mother with the help of Kathir.
As days pass by Meenakshi gets pregnant and by that time Poongodhai requests her mom to make the baby shower ceremony for her sister. Renuka accepts her request and calls Meenakshi and Shanmugam for a lunch. Surprisingly both Meenakshi and Shanmugam are found dead early in the morning.
In the meanwhile the factory reaches a worst phase of production and the mill's employees begin to strike demanding for more bonus. Due to be irregularity in the loan repayment government orders to close the factory which results in ultimate shutdown.
The secret behind Poongodhai's sister's death and the end result of the lives of the mill's employees are being told in the later stage of the second half.
Highlights :
Renuka, who plays heroine's mother walks away with the performer award. The experienced actress has done her role to perfection. Rajiv Krishnan who has made his comeback after a long time has done a decent job.
Among the songs, Aalaikari sung by Vijay Prakash hits the dot while the rest of the tracks evoporates from our mind easily.
