Titanic 3D Biggest Hollywood Film of 2012 at Box Office

James Cameron’s epic film Titanic 3D has garnered an impressive 18 Crores in the Indian box office and is now the biggest Hollywood film of 2012 till date, while still running strong across theaters in India!!

This marks a huge achievement, as its not only a re-release of a film which has previously grossed Rs.55 Crores in India, but also coincided with the much publicized IPL opening weekend and the huge multi-starrer Housefull 2.

Combining its 1997 and 2012 collections, the total box office collections for Titanic in India stand at 73 Crores (Including 55 Crores made in its original release), and is the 3rd biggest Hollywood film in India after Avatar (142 Crores) and 2012 (90 Crores)!!

Worldwide, Titanic 3D has already grossed $2.1 billion, making it the 2nd biggest movie of all time, behind Avatar ($2.8 billion).

Titanic 3D is a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the sailing of the Titanic, and pays a special tribute to the tragedy that took place in 1912.

The most celebrated film in history has been brought in the 3D format by James Cameron, who has once again broken all boundaries and created a visual extravaganza.  Starring multiple award winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, “Titanic” first released in 1997 and is one of the greatest love stories of all time, winning 11 Oscars that year.
