In Trichy, Balaji Sakthivel—a retired school headmaster—desires to secure a government job for his only son, Prashanth Pandiaraj.
To that end, he urges his son to take various government examinations. However, as Prashanth fails to pass any of them, his maternal uncle, Kali Venkat, steps in and secures him a job in the police force.

Prashanth joins the Ponmalaikottai Police Station in Trichy as a constable. Initially, when assigned minor tasks, he fails to execute them properly.

Under these circumstances, while being escorted to court, a thief arrested in a jewelry theft case escapes from Prashanth. Humiliated by this incident, Prashanth becomes the target of ridicule and mockery from others.

At one point, Prashanth decides to quit the police force altogether; however, heeding his father's advice, he takes up a backlog of pending warrant cases—and in successfully resolving them, he proves his true worth.

Consequently, the personnel at the police station look at him with astonishment. Meanwhile, Prashanth severely beats up some students who have been arrested in connection with a drug case. At the same time, he sets out to apprehend a thief who had escaped from his custody.

Meanwhile, the student whom Prashanth had struck passes away. Prashanth is left in shock by this turn of events. Ultimately, does Prashanth manage to clear his name in the student's murder case? And does he succeed in apprehending the thief he set out to catch? This forms the remainder of the story in the web series *Warrant*.

Prashanth Pandiyaraj, playing the character of Kottai Karuppu Sami, has truly embodied the role of an innocent youth—a simple-hearted man with a gentle nature. His performance is delightful to watch in some moments and laugh-out-loud funny in others. The efforts he undertakes to bring closure to each life are truly praiseworthy.

Narmitha M.V., who played the role of a nurse, and Chaya Devi and Aruljothi—who portrayed sex workers—have executed the tasks assigned to them perfectly.

The performances of Balaji Sakthivel, who plays Prashanth Pandiyaraj's father; Kausalya, who plays his mother; and Arul Doss, who plays the Police Inspector, are noteworthy. The acting of everyone in the supporting cast—including Kali Venkat as the maternal uncle, Hello Kandasamy as the constable, and the actor portraying the character Kodaikanal Saravanan—was thoroughly enjoyable.

Composer Sam C.S.'s songs and background score serve as a strong support to the narrative flow. Ashok Kumar's cinematography offers a visual feast for the eyes.

Director Vignesh Natarajan has crafted this screenplay centering on the theme of custodial death. Throughout the script, he propels the narrative forward, keeping the audience in suspense with the constant anticipation of what will happen next in each chapter. Congratulations to the director for driving the story with such intensity and momentum from start to finish.
